Too much.. Just.. Too much

Ok, I'm just going to come out and say it. I'm probably going to get some gasps, some back lash, and some of you will be agreeing with me in your heads. I know we're ALL thinking it I'm just going to come out and say it.

I think the internet is ruining it. Don't get me wrong. I'm an internet junkie(ahem.. I'm writing on my BLOG). I'm addicted to Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram.. you name it. But I think with all this internet involvement we're putting way too much pressure on ourselves. Or maybe it's just me?

I love Pinterest. Love, love, love it! But seriously.. now you can't have friends over without having a theme, decorations, theme-inspired food, outfits. Every room in your house needs to be organized top to bottom and look just like a picture off one of your boards. Your children need to be dressed to the T, only fed natural homemade foods, and disciplined according to the latest blog.

Now I haven't even given birth to my child and I'm already getting anxiety. His room isn't perfect. He needs clothes for all these pictures I want to take. Oh goodness, don't even get me started on the guilt I feel from not taking enough pictures or "documenting" enough. I have been beating myself up because I realized I didn't take a single picture to put on the blog from our 2nd anniversary a couple weeks ago. I can only imagine what it will be like after baby Nolan is born! Trying to remember to document all of this pregnancy has been overwhelming enough!(speaking of.. I'll be working on my next bi-weekly after this).

Like I said, I love the internet. I have found so many great ideas on Pinterest. I do most of my shopping online. I love to read blogs and get ideas. But I think mommy bloggers can be some of the worst. Everyone parents differently. These days there are so many contradicting opinions and that's good because what works for one person, may not work for someone else. But there is so much pressure to do everything "right". You have to breastfeed(probably not.), you have to have a birth plan(Umm.. a what? My plan is to get this baby out the best way possible so that we're both healthy. You can't plan for these things!), you have to make your own baby food, they can only play with these toys, you have to do this just right for their development.

I guess what I'm saying is take what you read with a grain of salt. Search pinterest and plan your child's perfect party, but don't beat yourself up if you ran out of time to make one more decoration. Read blogs for baby raising advice, but don't stress when your baby doesn't fit the mold. Shop pinterest for cute outfits, but hey if you got a shower and made it out of the house you're doing pretty good even if you don't have coordinating accessories! Find the perfect organization for your living room, but don't pull your hair out when you turn around and your toddler has pulled everything back out on the floor. Everyone is different and we have to start doing what's best for us and our family and not worry so much about what it looks like in pictures, on the blog, or to all of our mommy friends.

Just a thought.. take it for what you will :)

Happy Friday, y'all!

Sittting, Waiting, Wishing...

As all you other military wives know, and pretty much everyone else really, the military is all about hurry up and wait. I'm generally a pretty patient person, as my friends and family will tell you, but when I get impatient, WHEW! I get impatient!

S got home last weekend, YAY! But since he enlisted reservist(which has turned out to be a big HUGE pain!) but wants to be AD, he needs to do what they call seasoning training. With seasoning training he'll get more hands on training where he works full time at his job, learning his plane, for up to a year. After that we're hoping he will have the potential to get a full time active duty slot. But ya just never know with these things!

He FINALLY got the email today about his inprocess and briefing date, but until he figures all that out we have to pretty much put definite honeymoon plans on hold. We have an awesome honeymoon trip that we were SO blessed to get and I can't wait to get to planning it, but we're in that waiting stage I love so much.. and God is teaching me to be patient!

Life on the homefront...

Proudly sporting my Air Force (future) spouse pin!
Natty keeping mom company.. he's getting so spoiled!!

First week of tech school classes are over, and 4th week of the semester is over me! :) Pretty much back into the routine now, as much as I hate it! But I just have to keep reminding myself it's my last year.. just got to push through! It helps a lot being able to talk to Stephen everynight. Skype is amazing! I want to hug whoever invented it.

Aaaaaand wedding planning. Still in step one. Have been googling venues like a madwoman this week, and my mom and I found a promising one! 5eleven South Palafox. (If anyone has any experience with that place please let me know!!) Until we book it officially i'm also still open to other suggestions! :) We're supposed to go meet with them one afternoon this week and i'm really excited! I have a good feeling about this one!

Also started planning my trip to Dallas this week to visit Stephen! I can't wait! I'm going October 22nd-25th to celebrate his birthday weekend! I've been looking up plane tickets, hotel rooms, and stuff to do in Dallas since i've never been!! I just can't wait to get to hug my love again! Anyone who hasn't been seperated from their significant other has no idea how exciting it is to know a date you will see them again. It definitely makes you appreciate time together even more. As much as it sucks, it has it's positive points. I don't regret it at all. I do have my emotional days. More so when i'm tired and cranky and just want him here to calm me down, but we have phone calls, skype, and trips to plan! We get through the hard days and it all makes our relationship stronger :)

Oh yes... I almost forgot today is the Air Force's birthday! Happy birthday Air Force! Greatest air force in the world, and I love my airman!!
