Baby V: Week 7
Baby V: Week 6
Spreading the news
Then we decided we would only tell our immediate family for now, parents and siblings. That quickly grew to include grandparents.
Not wanting any of them to hear from anyone but us we called and broke the exciting news. They were all so excited! I think telling our family has been the best part so far. They're all so excited to meet our little one already that it makes me even more excited!
Wednesday night my extended family was coming over to plan our Disney vacation. I decided to try my balloon plan on them since it didn't work for my Dad.
Mandy and Trae got there first. I couldn't wait to tell her because she's actually pregnant with her 2nd is due about 2 months before me. I'm excited about how close these two will get to be growing up! Trae didn't really care, he just wanted to play with ths balloons. So I untied them for him and he was hitting them around, the house when everyone else got there.
Alisha, Troy, Brayden, and Aunt Michelle came later. The balloons Trae was playing with went right I we their heads. After waiting a few minutes for them to notice the balloons, we just had to tell them.
Everyone is excited for our growing family. So many cousins all close in age, they are going to have a ball growing up together.
We asked Trae if the new babies would be boys or girls and he decided they would both be girls. Then he decided that he wanted a little sister but a boy cousin so he says his Mommy is having a girl but Aunt LoLo is having a boy. We will get to find out if he's right about his Mommy in just 2 more weeks! We've got 10-11 weeks for us though. I'm hoping they fly by!
This baby is already so loved and will be so spoiled. My sister texts me pictures of cute baby stuff in the store she works at everyday. I'm going to go broke! ;)
Happy Friday y'all!
Baby V: week 5
Size of baby? About the size of an appleseed. Just teeny tiny thing but growing!
Weight gain? not yet! Just bloating and hoping to keep it that way for a,while.
Stretchmarks? Hopefully never
Belly button? Just normal... Hopefully for quite a while!
Sex? Won't know for quite a while still but love talking what ifs
Cravings? No real cravings yet, but I am already finding myself, turning my nose up at some of my favorite foods.
Latest hormonal outburst? This morning. I find that I can't get on Facebook or watch the news lately without crying. Luckily I've been able to keep my hormones in check so far so no one else has witnessed any outbursts.
Vomiting? Not yet. Lots of nauseousness that comes and goes all day but haven't actually gotten sick yet. Won't mind if it stays that way.
Feeling prepared? As prepared as we can be at 5 weeks! Haha I'll feel much more prepared when SE actually close on our house and can start getting things settled there.
Names? For a boy, Nolan. That's already decided it's just a matter of agreeing on a middle name. For a girl we've got nothing. Stephen likes really traditional names but I prefer them to be a little different just not off the wall. My favorite right now is Emmalyn. Luckily we,have a long time before we have to decide!
Random pregnancy side effects? Mostly the normal, nausea, exhaustion, peeing ALL the time, swollen boobs... The most random one so far is that I've been waking up at exactly 5 every morning to pre and then I can't get back to sleep because it feels like I have butterflies/nerves in my stomach. I'm hoping it's just the excitement of the newness still because I would really like to sleep til my alarm everyday!
Still wearing heels? To work although they already make my feet swell. I've always had a problem with my feet swelling anytime I was bloated so this is no exception.
Work? Of course. The only person there I've told yet is my good friend. I plan to tell my boss after my first ultrasound and hopefully I can convince him to let me work on getting things set up to work at home during my maternity leave.
Best moments this week? Finding out and being able to share the news
Looking forward to? My first doctor's appointment next Wednesday then my first ultrasound the following week.
Best day ever!
What we didn't know is that this day would change our lives forever.
We have been trying to have a baby for the last few months to much disappointment and discouragement. I had resigned to put it on hold until we were settled in the house and I had time to go back to the doctor for a full work up. God apparently had other plans for us.
I had been really sick for almost a week but just thought it was the flu. I was about 6 days late by this time, but didn't think much of it because my cycles had been off the last few months. Stephen insisted I take a test because he was dying to know. I told him I would first thing Tuesday morning but not to get his hopes up.
I woke up for work on Tuesday and I was getting dressed to go walk the dog I took one of the pregnancy tests into the bathroom with me. Expecting another disappointing negative sign I was beyond shocked as the second line appeared almost instantly creating a positive sign. I was over the moon excited and completely shocked! Since Stephen was already at work and I knew I couldn't wait all day to tell him I snapped a picture of the positive sign and sent him a text of it. He was just as shocked as I was.
Somehow I managed to get ready for work and not give it away to my Mom. I wanted to think of a cute way to tell her and my Dad at dinner that night. About halfway to work I realized I couldn't not tell her either so I called and spilled the beans. Needless to say she was ecstatic too. Stephen and I decided just to tell our immediate families since it's so early(they're estimating I'm about 5 weeks.) Since everyone is so spread out and we can't contain our excitement he called his parents to let them know they are going to be grandparents and we called our siblings to let them know they would be aunts and uncles. Everyone's reactions were priceless! As this is the first grandbaby on either side I can foresee a lot of spoiling!
I laugh because I had about 20 pins on longest and all these ideas in my head of cute ways to announce it but in the end we couldn't wait and phone calls did it.
We waited to tell my Dad that night at dinner so I thought I would try to salvage my creativity and stopped to buy it's a boy and girl balloons to tie up in the dining room to see how long it would, take him to realize. (picture)
Well Stephen insisted we go to dinner to celebrate anywhere I wanted. (chili's, duh!) My Dad was running late from work and just met Mom, Stephen, and I there so he missed the balloons and I again just ended up blurting it out. He is ecstatic and admitted to not being able to keep it a secret.
My last hope of a cute announcement is telling my grandparents this weekend. I'm still working on ideas in my head and hope I can hold off that long!
I plan on documenting everything so we will be able to remember every detail to tell baby so you should be seeing me more often around this little blog now! :) Starting tomorrow because we have the final construction walk through on our house! I will finally post completed pictures. It's a beaut if I do say so myself!
Now to try to get some more sleep, growing a human being is tiring! More updates soon
Happy Tuesday y'all!

Home sweet home
To be honest, that was about the extent of our Valentine's day. We closed at 4:00(surprisingly, quick and painless), then went and picked up Natty dog and took him for his visit to the new house. We let him run around the yard and the empty house and we just basked in the moment of realizing it was really ours after months of visiting just to see the construction. We took the dog back to my parent's house and proceeded to spend our Valentine's mattress shopping and eating dinner. I know we're very romantic, but you have no idea how exciting this was for us!
Since we both had to work all day Friday we decided just to move in Saturday. So we spent a last few days at my Mom and Dad's house. I'll admit it was really nice being there, don't tell him but I don't hate my dad's crazy idea of living in a commune. They're some of our best friends and I enjoy just hanging out with them doing nothing. Not to mention my Mom is an amazing cook and I enjoyed eating there for almost 2 months! :)
Saturday bright and early we loaded up our cars and started the moving process. I had been stressing about it because I *HATE* to move. But it was surprisingly uneventful. We were beyond blessed by the amount of help we had from family and friends. All of our belongings were in the house in under an hour and a half and most everything was put where it belonged by that afternoon. I'm still finding places for little things and attempting to organize but overall it's pretty well together and feels like our home already. I am a terrible blogger and didn't manage to take one single picture on moving day. (Cut me some slack, I was a little preoccupied!) But if you missed my last post you can see pictures of our house here, it looks the same it just has stuff in it. Eventually I will get it all decorated and post "after" pictures.
Leave it to my
We thought we had rigged it up enough to keep him back there while we finished moving until he came running through the garage door into the house a lovely shade of orange/brown from the dirt. Onto my new beige carpet. Luckily we caught him and wrangled him into the garage before he could make a mess, but he was definitely giving us a run for our money that day! I'm still trying to decide the best way to remedy that situation until a house is built over there(which could be years!). Electric fence is sounding like the most reliable option, but we'll see. I might try chicken wire and bricks first. Gah, the things I do for that fur baby!
We were pretty wiped out still Sunday. We shopped for some things we needed right away and for groceries. After putting the groceries away we took a two hour nap.(We're incredibly productive!) We did finally get up and hang all the blinds, hook up the washer and dryer, and organize a couple closets. I made burritos for our first dinner in the new house and we went to bed extra early. (Think before 9.. sad truth: I STILL didn't want to get up for work this morning!)
But that's about it for our Valentine's Day/weekend/home buying/moving experience! I promise to post some furnished pictures soon, once it looks a little more together.
Until next time....
Happy Monday y'all! :)

Our first house
We went to the house yesterday for the first construction walk through. The house is completely finished save for the few repairs we discussed with the super yesterday.
I LOVE IT! It came out even better than I had imagined! The construction phase should be completed within two weeks and ready to do a final walk through.
Unfortunately were probably looking at another month until closing because were waiting on mortgage paperwork to be finalized. Were(hopefully if all goes well) getting a great deal on a rural development loan. If you're looking at buying or building I highly recommend checking out it's availability in your area. Because it's a government backed program were now at their mercy and we all now how quick the government gets things done! (NOT)
In the mean time I took a million pictures yesterday to leave you with.
Happy Thursday y'all!
