Am I the only one????

Am I the only one who feels like they have no direction in their life? Probably.

I like to think that a lot of recent college grads and newlyweds have no idea where they are going in life, but maybe this isn't the case.

I graduated college with a public relations degree in April of this year. I haven't found a job in my field. (I also haven't been looking too hard, if the truth be told.) I don't really want to work in PR anymore.

I know, I know, a little late to decide that now!

I'm trying out subbing this semester and I'm going to spend some time in classrooms and hope that I enjoy that field better and then start working to get my own classroom.

I envy those people that were just born knowing what they want to do. I envy people who got jobs that they just love. If you're one of those people, I hate you! Not really!! I'm just very jealous, because I've never had that feeling.

Growing up I was one of those kids that changed "what I wanted to be when I grew up" about every other week. I never just knew what I wanted to be. The only thing that was consistent was that I wanted to be a wife and mom one day.

Well, one down! I love being a wife, and would be a house wife if that was a possibility. (Here's hoping that one day Stephen has a really good job, and I can just stay home and have babies!)

Until then, I'm on the hunt for a job to love. I'm hoping that teaching is it for me. I love kids(truthfully, I enjoy being around kids more than adults!), the schedule is awesome, and it's never the same boring thing everyday.

Anyway...

Enough of my personal freak out/quarter-life crisis complaints of the day.

Here's something cool I discovered today!

Some of you may have already done it, but for those of you who haven't. Get ahead of the Facebook changes! I know everyone is complaining about all the new stuff.(I personally am not a fan either, why mess with a good thing?) But they are setting it up for something really awesome, and if you're inpatient like me, you can get it now by following the instructions on this website.

I just did mine, and it's crazy! It's called Facebook timeline and it organizes your page in chronological order from the time you joined Facebook until now. CAUTION: you may come across embarassing college party pictures or old statuses that will make you laugh! They are eventually going to do this to everyone's page, but until then you can only see timelines of other people who have changed their page and only people who have made the change can see your page as a timeline.

Enjoy!

 Happy Monday y'all!

  1. I'm 5 years out of college, and still have NO IDEA what I want to do! I definitely envy those people who have just always known where their life is going. I worked in Advertising for a bit, thought I hated it, but now that I've been out of it for 2 years I'm starting to miss parts of that industry. I thought I was done with it... Good luck to you. Most teachers stick with it, so I hope you like it.

  2. i think everyone feels that way at some point or another. life is a journey... we rarely stay on the right path. there is something out there for you. do what sounds interesting, and eventually you will find your perfect fit.

  3. I'm 4 years out of college, and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I taught for 3 years out of college. Loved it my first year and hated it the last two, so I left. Now I'm an infant/toddler developmental therapist. I'm debating going back to school to be an occupational therapist, but it's a lot of time and money. I think that some of us (probably most of us) aren't meant to have 1 career our entire lives. I'm pretty sure I'm one of those people. :)

  4. It's hard to know what you wanna be when you grow up. Looking back I wish I'd known a few things in life and I'd maybe done something different...well, I'd still married the same guy and my 4 years in the AF was great. I could/should have stayed in but didn't and a different career field....oh well! I am happy where I'm at for the most part. My daughter who is 31 has finally found something she wants to do and is going to college to get it. Thank goodness they took her prior college credits and now she's studying criminal justice. Will have her degree next year. Then hopefully a job that will pay enough to get her on her own again!
